This power supply cycles so far above the range of human hearing that ripple-based buzz (60 cycle hum) is eliminated. At 1.7 (1700mA) amps of current, the Power Pad II will deliver 9 volts every time and can power an unlimited number of pedals. AC and DC power is circuit protected. While there are 8 x 9V center tip negative type outputs (Boss style), you can also use an optional daisy chain cable to add more pedals up to the 1.7 Amp maximum if necessary (available at your local music store).

It also includes a courtesy AC outlet with 6 amps (6000mA) of power in addition to the 1.7 Amps above. This solves the problem of different voltages and reversed polarities because you can plug those type devices into the AC outlet or a power strip for several different type adapters or AC type pedals.

Included Accessories: The Power Pad II 2 includes (8) x 2.1MM 9VDC (Boss style) power connector cables in 2 lengths (4 x 22" & 4 x 36") and a world-universal IEC inlet with a 10 Foot AC power cable. Also included are mounting brackets designed to fit MKS's patented modular systems which may also be adapted to other drop-in, surface mount type boards.

Basic Info About Effects Pedals: For those not familiar with how much power the average effects pedal uses, or what their correct current or future requirements may be, here is some pedal basics to understand. The average Boss style pedal typically uses between 35-50mA of power. At 1.7 amps (1700mA) of available power which the Power Pad II has, you could theoretically power at least 34-40 pedals! Bear in mind, that you won't typically be using all of your effects at the same time. Since the Power Pad II is a "switching" power supply, it only delivers the necessary power to each pedal as it is being used. Most Boss style stomp box pedals are center tip negative. If you have any pedals that are not, you would want to run them via the AC outlet with their own dedicated adapter or by 9V battery since those are typically Fuzz or Octave type pedals that sound best with a battery. Also, If you have a few high current draw effects such as Line 6 Modeler pedals, or multi effects units, whose adapters are rated at upwards of 2000mA, you could plug 2-3 of those dedicated adapters or AC cables into the courtesy AC outlet (or power strip-not supplied) and then plug all your stomp box pedals into the 8 other outputs and you would be set! You can use L6 Modeler converter cables and EHX style cable adapters and attach them to any of the included Boss style cables and they will work (provided that they are running at 9v center tip negative), but are not included or available through us. We suggest to plug those type of units into the AC outlet if possible to keep them running separately since the L6 modelers, and/or multi-effects units usually require larger amounts of power.

The POWER PAD II is available as a stand-alone unit which also comes with mounting ears (not pictured) and it ships as a standard component of the Pedal Pad MPS and MPS-XL Pedal Boards.

International Voltage Users: The Power Pad II runs on standard U.S. 110 voltage. You can, however, plug any voltage in the world into it such as 220/230/240, etc. using a standard universal computer style cable. Just be aware that whatever input voltage you plug into the Power Pad II is the same voltage that will come out of the AC courtesy outlet on the side of the unit if you choose to use it. For example, if you want to plug in a pedal that requires a dedicated adapter into the courtesy outlet and that adapter runs at 110v but your country's voltage is 220/230/240 etc., then you would need a step-down converter. However, no matter what voltage you put into the supply, the (8) x 9 volt DC jacks will still put out the same 9 volts to each pedal, no matter what voltage you put into the main power supply unit. Since this is a switching power supply, it will deliver the required mA to each pedal. For example, if you have 1 pedal that requires 9v @ 50mA and another that requires 9v @ 500mA and 6 others with different mA requirements, the Power Pad will deliver the correct amount of mA to each pedal up to the 1.7Amps.

Need Help? We can help you decide which size or configuration is right for you! This model features a concealed cable routing compartment and a pitched and hinged pedal surface and is 10 inches longer than our standard AXS board, the same size as our MPS-XL except this pedal board is un-powered. The only other difference is the hinged, carpeted pedal surface instead of the metal panel system, which some players prefer since it makes it easier to attach a pedal anywhere on the surface by simply attaching the top hook side of the velcro to the bottom of your pedal and sticking it anywhere on the carpeted area. In addition, the AXS-XL is more than 40% less in cost of the MPS-XL so for budget minded players with more than 8 stomp box type pedals, this is the board to buy.

No more "pointing your toe" to a pedal in the second row and knocking your pedal settings all out of whack in the first row during a performance. This happens all the time with other poorly designed, flat pedal board "flight cases".
In fact, if the board is flat, then it's nothing more than a flight case, not a true pedal board system like the pros use. If you ever tried using one of those flat type boards, then you know it's almost as bad as just having your pedals sprawled out all over the floor! Then there's the nylon zip up type pedal boards that knock your control settings out of kilter when you close down the top and are just as flat and dysfunctional. Heaven help your valuable effects pedals if someone sits something heavy on top of the nylon case! What's the solution?

Enter the Pedal Pad AXS-XL

If you have several guitar effects pedals or more, just setting them up and connecting the cables can take 20 minutes or longer! By the time you're setup, you're tired, flustered or embarrassed if you can't get it all working the way you had it sounding before. You usually have to reset all your control settings from handling the pedals to try to re-capture that sound you had nailed down at home. It can even throw your whole sound style and playing mindset off kilter for the rest of the night! Sound familiar?

With the Pedal Pad AXS-XL Pedal Board - there is no more untangling cables, plugging into the wrong input/output jacks, losing your control settings, "toe pointing" or risking shorts and wearing out your effects pedals. Connect everything just once, hiding all the cables you used to trip over under the pitched and hinged pedal surface for a clean and professional workspace. When you're ready to play, just plug in your guitar and start rockin'!

If you're a serious minded player and want a professional quality pedal board for both ultimate functionality, ease of use and to protect your effects pedal investments, then the Pedal Pad AXS-XL (Acronym for "Access") is the pedal board for you! That is why it's called by many professional guitar players around the world, "The Player's Pedal Board".

Pedal Pad AXS-XL Pedal Board has a rugged, lightweight design that protects your pedals during transport while making carrying easier.

Exterior Dimensions

Length: 38"

Depth: 15"

Height: w/ lid 8"; w/o lid 6"

Interior Dimensions

All of the connections in the Patch Pad are wired point to point. Even if you do not plan on using Stereo Routing or utilizing it's endless combination routing capabilities, you can still use it just to protect your valuable effects pedals from wearing out by not having to constantly plug and unplug the last pedal in your pedal chain and risk losing your effects settings from handling the pedal. On the road or in the studio you will find many handy uses for the Patch Pad. To see a few example configurations click here (Adobe Acrobat Reader is required).

Balanced Loop Feature: The balanced loop is nothing more than 2 stereo jack sockets hardwired together. Its intended use is for channel switching footswitches for your amp. As an example, say you have a Vibrato/Reverb footswitch for a Fender Vibroverb mounted on your board which uses a TRS (stereo) cable. This goes into one side of the balanced loop. You can then leave it connected just like any other pedal on the board. During setup you would then run a stereo cable from the other jack in the balanced loop to the back of the amp. The important part of the balanced loop is that it does not share a ground wire with the other jack sockets on the Patch Pad. Many amp footswitches have LED indicators which use the signal wire to power the LED and that makes for a noisy pedal board if you share a ground with the audio patch bay. Of course there are other potential uses which I'll leave to your imagination.

Note: The Patch Pad is available as a stand-alone unit, and can be used as a drop-in component of the Pedal Pad MPS, MPS-9 and MPS-XL Pedal Boards.

Need Help? We can help you decide which size or configuration is right for you!

Note: The above Power Pad II also comes with mounting ears as seen on the Patch Pad below to fit into the patented modular system.

POWER PAD II SPECIFICATIONS:
Input Voltage: Universal 90 to 264 VAC
Input Frequency: 47 to 63 Hz
Input Current: 6 Amps (fuse protected)
Output Voltage 1: Equivalent to the Input voltage
Output Voltage 2: 9 Volts DC (8 Outputs)
DC Current: 1.67 Amps (1670 mA)
Line Regulation: +/- 0.5% max
Load Regulation: +/- 1.0% max
Short Circuit Protection: Continuous
Connections: AC In - IEC style grounded cord (10 Foot)
DC Out: 2.1mm (IS), 5.5mm (OS)
Connectors: Eight Power Connector Cables in 2 lengths (4-22" & 4-36" long) to connect your effects pedals.

Note: The Power Pad II also comes as a stand-alone unit and daisy chain cables (available elsewhere) can also be used if more 9VDC outputs are needed.

Optional Accessories

(Please Find in our store link above)

PATCH PAD STEREO ROUTING MODULE gives you the ability to leave your pedals permanently plugged in, thus making your set-ups fast and hassle free.

Note: The above Power Pad II also comes with mounting ears as seen on the Patch Pad below to fit into the patented modular system.

POWER PAD II SPECIFICATIONS:
Input Voltage: Universal 90 to 264 VAC
Input Frequency: 47 to 63 Hz
Input Current: 6 AMPS (fuse protected)
Output Voltage 1: Equivalent to the Input voltage
Output Voltage 2: 9 Volts DC (8 Outputs)
DC Current: 1.67 AMPS (1670 mA)
Line Regulation: +/- 0.5% max
Load Regulation: +/- 1.0% max
Short Circuit Protection: Continuous
Connections: AC In - IEC style grounded cord (10 Foot)
DC Out: 2.1mm (IS), 5.5mm (OS)
Connectors: Eight Power Connector Cables in 2 lengths (4-22" & 4-36" long) to connect your effects pedals.

Note: The Power Pad II also comes as a stand-alone unit and daisy chain cables (available elsewhere) can also be used if more 9VDC outputs are needed.

Optional Accessories

(Please Find in our store link above)
PATCH PAD STEREO ROUTING MODULE gives you the ability to leave your pedals permanently plugged in, thus making your set-ups fast and hassle free.

Note: The above Power Pad II also comes with mounting ears as seen on the Patch Pad below to fit into the patented modular system.

Optional Accessory Available March 2009
For the time being, you can use an alternate power such as a Dunlop DC-Brick, Voodoo Lab Pedal Power, or place a standard power strip under the panels and use Wall Warts.

POWER PAD II SPECIFICATIONS:

Input Voltage: Universal 90 to 264 VAC
Input Frequency: 47 to 63 Hz
Input Current: 6 Amps (fuse protected)
Output Voltage 1: Equivalent to the Input voltage
Output Voltage 2: 9 Volts DC (8 Outputs)
DC Current: 1.67 Amps (1670 mA)
Line Regulation: +/- 0.5% max
Load Regulation: +/- 1.0% max
Short Circuit Protection: Continuous
Connections: AC In - IEC style grounded cord (10 Foot)
DC Out: 2.1mm (IS), 5.5mm (OS)
Connectors: Eight Power Connector Cables in 2 lengths (4-22" & 4-36" long) to connect your effects pedals.

Note: The Power Pad II also comes as a stand-alone unit and daisy chain cables (available elsewhere) can also be used if more 9VDC outputs are needed.

Optional Accessories

(Please Find in our store link above)
PATCH PAD STEREO ROUTING MODULE gives you the ability to leave your pedals permanently plugged in, thus making your set-ups fast and hassle free.

It also includes a courtesy AC outlet with 6 amps (6000mA) of power in addition to the 1.7 AMPS-NP above.

Note: The above Power Pad II also comes with mounting ears as seen on the Patch Pad below to fit into the patented modular system.

Optional Accessory Available March 2009
For the time being, you can use an alternate power such as a Dunlop DC-Brick, Voodoo Lab Pedal Power, or place a standard power strip under the panels and use Wall Warts.

POWER PAD II SPECIFICATIONS:

Input Voltage: Universal 90 to 264 VAC
Input Frequency: 47 to 63 Hz
Input Current: 6 Amps (fuse protected)
Output Voltage 1: Equivalent to the Input voltage
Output Voltage 2: 9 Volts DC (8 Outputs)
DC Current: 1.67 Amps (1670 mA)
Line Regulation: +/- 0.5% max
Load Regulation: +/- 1.0% max
Short Circuit Protection: Continuous
Connections: AC In - IEC style grounded cord (10 Foot)
DC Out: 2.1mm (IS), 5.5mm (OS)
Connectors: Eight Power Connector Cables in 2 lengths (4-22" & 4-36" long) to connect your effects pedals.

Note: The Power Pad II also comes as a stand-alone unit and daisy chain cables (available elsewhere) can also be used if more 9VDC outputs are needed.

Optional Accessories

(Please Find in our store link above)

PATCH PAD STEREO ROUTING MODULE gives you the ability to leave your pedals permanently plugged in, thus making your set-ups fast and hassle free.
